

The flow of battle is second to none and the variety of moves and combos at your disposal makes for some special set pieces. The game fuses its anime and manga cinematics with some of the best fighting mechanics I’ve ever seen, and if you’re not perturbed by overly long cut scenes or a story buried deep in its own mythology, be brave and dive right in. It does a great job of incorporating Naruto’s history in the game’s story and I doubt they’ll be any disappointment from diehard fans.

It has some wonderfully told narrative along the way, especially when it focuses on Obito and his apparent death during the Third Great Shinobi War. If you’re not familiar with the Naruto Shippuden anime or manga, you’ll be drowning in plot and dialogue to fully appreciate it unless you’re well-acquainted with the series. You get to fight in glorious detail with an incredible sense of freedom and flow, and from the very first battle you have you’ll be harnessing Chakra and walloping your opponents with Ninjitsu like nobody’s business. You can even practice and hone your skills beforehand to ensure that you’re battle-ready.Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 is a whirlwind of mayhem wrapped in a rich legacy of a treasured anime and it never stops for breath.

Whether through local multiplayer with some of your best friends or online with some of the most skilled fighters in the world, the multiplayer mode is tremendous competitive fun for all. The game offers various modes for battles outside of the story, including survival, tournament, versus, and league. Don’t forget to use the elements such as fire, as it can burn away an enemy’s clothing. You can also destroy your enemy’s weapons and armor in boss battles. Ninja Storm 4 lets you switch between characters during your battle, allowing you to be able to appreciate the complexity of available combat moves. It has maintained a similar gameplay style to the previous games, so it should feel familiar to diehard fans of the franchise. You’ll encounter several opponents and bosses as you traverse the game’s open world. You better enjoy hack and slash combat because you’re going to be doing a lot of it, with few other gameplay elements. The story throws you right into the depths of battle with an intense fight - you’ll quickly find that it follows a similar theme going forward.
